La conferma ufficiale è arrivata nella notte, durante lo svolgimento della main card di UFC Vegas 15. Per Marvin Vettori e per le MMA italiane si tratta di un’opportunità unica. Non solo il nostro connazionale affronterà il #4 dei ranking pesi medi, ma sarà anche il primo italiano di sempre a combattere in un main event UFC.
Inizialmente Vettori avrebbe dovuto affrontare Jacaré a UFC 256, evento del 12 dicembre, in un incontro sui 3 round. Cambio di programma quasi totale per il nativo di Mezzocorona, che anticiperà di una settimana il ritorno nell’ottagono e dovrà prepararsi ad affrontare 5 round. Il gioco vale indubbiamente la candela e il Team Vettori è già all’opera per fare gli aggiustamenti necessari. In caso di vittoria, il match titolato sarebbe dietro l’angolo per The Italian Dream.
